Dial

The teal green is making a powerful return with these new watches, paying homage to motorsport history and the vintage green shades of racing cars from the 1920s to 1960s. Showcasing the date at 9 o’clock in true Dato style, you will also find a teal green azuré mono subdial at the three o’clock position for a unique look.

The circular brushed finish, as well as the rhodium-plated indexes and hands make for a watch that offers easy reading whilst preserving its rich legacy.

Case

Just like the watches launched last year, the new model boasts a domed sapphire Glassbox crystal glass – only this time it’s been reengineered with a curve that flows seamlessly over the flange, running along the edge of the dial and blending into the case.

The name “Glassbox” is a reflection of its domed, curved, crystal glass, paying homage to similarly domed hesalite crystal designs from the 1970s. These improved ergonomics on the stainless-steel case create a sleek and modern look that Carrera fans are sure to love.

Movement

Get lost in time (quite literally) as the watch features an open case back that showcases TAG Heuer’s in-house movement Heuer 02 listed as TH20-07. With an impressive 80-hour power reserve, the movement now has a bidirectional automatic winding mechanism, that means it can be wound both clockwise and counter-clockwise to recharge back to full battery.

This new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph is presented on a high-end black alligator leather strap for that touch of luxury, with a stainless-steel folding clasp. The perfect watch to take you from day to night in never-ending Swiss style.

Starting with the star of the show, the tourbillon cage can be found at 6 o’clock, encased within a stunning glass frame. The teal green flange, rhodium-plated applied indexes and deep azure subdials, surrounded by green rings, further contribute to the watch’s readability and elegance.

Discover powdered silver markings on the logo and the word “SWISS” and “CARRERA” elevating the watch’s appearance to a sophisticated level.

Case

Crafted in stainless steel with a 42mm case size, the curved sapphire crystal provides a panoramic view of the tourbillon from various angles, enhancing the overall readability and aesthetic appeal. Paying homage to designs from the 1970s, the “Glassbox” name has been given for its domed, curved, crystal glass. These improved ergonomics create a sleek and modern look that Carrera fans are sure to love.

Movement

So, what is a tourbillon? First perfected more than 200 years ago, a tourbillon is a continuously rotating cage that surrounds the escapement and is designed to counteract the influences of gravity on the accuracy of a mechanical movement.

Powering this exceptional timepiece is the Heuer 02 – TH20-09. This movement ensures bidirectional automatic winding mechanism, a significant efficiency and accuracy, not to mention a recognised level of finishing.

The attention to design extends to the black alligator leather strap, fastened by a finely brushed, polished steel folding clasp with double safety push-buttons, adorned with the iconic TAG Heuer shield - a timepiece that perfectly blends tradition, innovation, and elegance.
